Dr. Benton also describes her physical features as being a bit chunky from eating too much. Eating too much was one of the reasons that caused her death, high blood pressure. And for not having her own family attend her funeral was depressing to Walker. This affected Walker, to know that her idol was not greatly known like she thought she would be.

Walkers Innovation of Zora Neal Hurston and Herself
Walker a great admirer of Zora Neal Hurstons novels, is in search for Zoras grave and wants to no more about her. From Zora's novels Walker figures that Eatonville is her home town and so she tends to go there to get more information than she already acquired from reading her novels. She meets up with a companion named Charlotte and both share their findings they obtained from her novels before the expedition. They begin by asking a women questions at the post office and tells her that she was Zora's niece. Walker believed it was the best way to get more information out of people. The women believed Mrs. Moseley remembered her and they began to question her as well. From Moseley's responses, they imbibe that she did have a funeral and where she was buried but not her exact grave. Knowing Zoras situation in not having a proper funeral, Walker considers to attach a tomb stone to her grave, feeling she had the right to do so. Moseley tells them the cause of Zoras death but only find out her true cause of death when they meet up with Dr.Benton, a great friend of Zora's. He tell them his relationship to Zora as her neighbor. He also explains her relationship with her family which was not a good one. Walker begins to feel apart of Zora since she has read her autobiography, which referred to her personality almost as if Walker knew Zora in person.

Feeling the Blues
Janie gets the blues flu from the very start of her childhood, by not having her mother be there for her to watch her grow, to cherish her and love her. I believe that is the main hitch that is keeping her down. She does not know how to love and be loved. Even though her Nanny loved her with all her heart, her definition of love was different than the way Janie defines it. Nanny believed that getting married signified love. When Janie believed that love was the reason one married. Janie wanted to love and be loved but did not know exactly how it worked. This brought a great depression to her heart. Nanny advised Janie to get married to a man that would provide her with everything she needed as well as protection and love will follow. Nanny's advice was helpless. Janie was neither happy with the things he provided nor had any sorts of feelings of care towards her first husband. Joe her second husband engaged her in his sweet talk and made her believe he was different than what he really was. Once she began to notice the real side of him she realized that what she thought was love was no longer love. Her relationship with Joe was one that really brought her hopes down to finding true love.

Years of Questioning, Years of Answers
When we are young we often ask questions about certain things in this world. As we get older we might not have as many questions as we did in our younger years but because throughout the years those questions get answered. But not all our questions get answered right then and there, "There are years that ask questions and years that answer." Janie too is still in that stage where questions develop from our curiosity. But will this year be the year that asks questions or one that answers them? Or will this be the year that does both? From the reading it sounds like she will have both questions and answers in the year that is to come. Janie is still too young to know things according to marriage and how it works so she tends to ask many questions. As she goes through with the marriage with Logan she develops her assumption of love and believes that she has no love for him. In this situation she asks herself many times on what her decisions will be and what is she going to do about it. She makes the decision of leaving him and going off with a man that tells her things she wants to hear but she still has that question in her mind, "Am I doing the right thing?" In this year that is to come she will have this question with her and her answer to whether it is right or not well soon follow.

On a Journey of Self-Discovery
What does it mean to go on a journey of self-discovery? To go on a journey of self discovery, I would say is a time to escape from your ordinary daily life, to recognize who you really are and what you have done in your life. This journey is not just the typical vacation time of relaxation, it can be much more. It is the time when you discover not just who you are but also what you are capable of, your abilities.
One may have a job and school to go to, a very tight schedule. All they end up doing is eat, go to school, eat, go to work, go home, eat, and go to sleep, and never have a chance to personal experiences. Discovering your abilities through personal experience on this journey is one way to discover one-self. These personal experiences and the discovery of who you are can better your life style. Knowing what your capable of, you can exert them in your everyday life.
A journey of self-discovery can be a time to take nice breath of air. Having that time to relax and think straight. Think about what you have done in your life and if that is what you what to do for the rest of your life. Think about the things you want to do in the future.
To summarize it, going on a journey of self-discovery means to realize your ways of doing things and improve them to become a better person for your own happiness.

You Marry for Love
When one hears about two people getting married they automatically think that couple is truly in love. I mean marriage always has at least something to do with love doesn't it? Well, yes marriage has something to do with love, but it does not necessarily have to be the love that everybody thinks of when they perceive a wedding. The love people have for one another is the most common reason to why people marry. Love, though, may not be the reason for every single marriage. There are many reasons out there to why people marry. Marriage thus may bring out the love for one another sooner or later.
Some may marry to help out a friend. Many immigrants these days marry to gain their citizenship. In this case this friend may like to see him/her live a better life here in America. They may not be truly in love at that exact moment of the marriage but the love is there just as friends. With time they may start to develop feelings, a sort of different kind of love. Others may be forced to marry without even knowing anything about that significant other. There are people who practice this as part of their religion where the children's parents, choose the person whom they will be married to for the rest of their lives. In this situation they are being forced to be married sometimes even without the love for one another. They marry not because of the love they have for each other but for the love of their "god". Love does exist in marriage though it may not be the same love everyone refers to.

How long did Daisy and Gatsby have without seeing each other?
Why does Gatsby Make so many parties?
Why does Daisy insist on knowing who Gatsby is?

Love at First Sight
It was on the two little seats facing each other
that are always the last ones left on the train.
I was going up to New York
that are always the last ones left on the train.
I was going up to New York
to see my sister and spend the night.
He had on a dress suit
and patent leather shoes,
and I couldn’t keep my eyes off him,
but every time he looked at me
I had to pretend to be looking at
the advertisement over his head.
the advertisement over his head.
When we came into the station he was next to me,
and his white shirt-front pressed against my arm,
and so I told him I’d have to call a policeman,
but he knew I lied.
I was so excited that when I got into a taxi with him
I didn’t hardly know I wasn’t getting into a subway train.
All I kept thinking about, over and over,

Is Money the Main Reason You Marry?
One may say, the more money one consist of the better. I have heard this many times but more from women. We women are sometimes picky and want everything and believe that if we marry a man with a large amount of money he can buy us anything in the world. But it is not always like that. Many incorporate their own perspectives on this and in my perspective I certainly believe that a man can not buy everything in the world, not even with trillions of dollars. Happiness and love are not things that you can just go and buy at a store. You construct happiness and love through feelings, emotions and events that occur in your life. One can not live without love or happiness. I know for sure that at some point everyone has felt happy and knows it is a great feeling.
One who marries because of interest in their partners money is unethical. Marriage is for two people who dearly love each other and love each other not because of money but because of their personality, health, and the chemistry they share. I am not trying to say that a marriage be made of perfection because no marriage is perfect but not feeling the same love for one another can be a bigger problem than it seems. Married couples at some point will encounter disputes and one main element that may keep them together is love. Without love what is marriage?
Would you rather have this...

How Appearance can Deceit People
Many Americans these days love to dress fashionable. Some may show their personality through their type of fashion but, most outward appearances these days are deceptive. Through out my life I have noticed semblance especially now that I am in high school. I have noticed it more with girls, basically because guys don't really care about anything. Not all are like that but the majority are uncaring. I have noticed the deceptive appearance in a friend of mine that I'v know virtually my whole life. I remember a time where I was called the 'girly girl', now we call my friend the 'girly girl' wearing stylish, trendy clothing, and her heals to school. When I know she is riotous girl who does not mind walking outside bear foot or does not mind how her hair looks. I think sometimes we get too concern with our outer appearance because one wants people to like them or complement them to make them feel better and/or maybe feel more comfortable. Some may do it because they feel lonely and maybe interested in finding a partner. Showing a snazzy look would be one way to gain peoples attention and make them more interested in you. Though from my perspective looks nor money matter when it comes to a significant other. It is about personality and comfort between you and that person and the respect you have for each other. Many girls say the more money a guy has the better, but money can not buy love. What we value in America is indeed substantial. Its what we believe in and how we follow those principals. It is what make us who we are. How wouldn't it be important?

Assimilate and its Effects
Assimilate means to absorb or take in and incorporate
as one's own as the dictionary says. To break it down assimilate means to
try to be something you’re not, trying to resemble something or trying to fit
in, not only through appearance but through the mind as well. If you think
about it, there are many ways one assimilates, in a sort of way it’s
an influence whether it’s good or bad. For example in the
play A Raisin in the Sun, Beneatha is one who worries about assimilation. There
are some ways she shows it without a doubt, like when she mutilates her natural
hair so that it looks more like that of a white women's hair. Also, the way she
talks when not at home; a tongue that lets out words but words of a
Hollywood queen or a queen of the Nile. One can argue whether assimilate is a
good thing or a bad thing, it all depends on the influence a person
is taking in or absorbing. For instance, Beneatha, wanting to have the same
physical attraction like white women had, shows the weakness of confidence
she really has of herself. But that assimilation can become a good thing,
after a while you'll get bored with it and it will give you the
confidence to show who you really are.
I’ve noticed people around me have assimilated or are
assimilating and I as well have assimilated before. Some may come to school
with new designer cloths one day trying to impress the so called "higher
class". Some do it to get attention, the attention
they rarely experience even at home or others may do it because
they were once taunted and don't want to go through that humiliation again. My
assimilation never got to the point where, "I need", was a constant
phrase that would come out of my mouth. The trying to fit in was rarely a
problem to me but it was more like a pusher-upper thing that gave me
the confidence to express who I really was. Notes of a Native
Speaker by Eric Liu, portrays a similar assimilation, the one that
makes you realize who you really are. Eric Liu assimilates with peers around
him because he feels like a stranger. He did things with his peers, the things
he would not do at home but at the same time he would learn new
things Later on in his life he realizes that, that was not who he really
was or should have been. Leaving behind his cultural traditions, he notices
that if he did not assimilate he would have been a total different person then
what he was at that moment. Eric see assimilation as a good but then bad
thing because he was slowly pushed away from his cultural traditions but then
again a good thing because he was successful in life.

Me? or Mi Familia?
I believe our Families are much more important than my own desires. Without your family how would you have become the person you are today? Our families are our building blocks to our success. Our families were our first teachers, and mentors. Family will always know you better than you yourself even if you do not think so. If I were ever to have to chooses between my family and my own desires, I would definitely choose my family without having to think about it.
My family and I are a big family, I have three older brothers and younger twin sisters, and two loving parents that provied for me basically everything I need (and somtimes the things I want but not all the time). I can say everyone in my family has tought me atleast somthing important that I will always keep in mind everywhere I go and I know it will help me wherever God takes me. My mom; how to be a clean young lady. My dad;how to respect, and care, not only for people but also animals. My three older brothers; how to think for myself and be a leader, not always having to depend on someone, never let my fears get in the way (ride with no fear), and how to dance my emotions away! My sisters; how annoying my voice is when I tell them to do somthing for me. All these elements have made up the person I am today and I know without them I wouldnt have gone this far. Although we fight somtimes I know I can count on them to catch me when im about to fall, becacuse thats how life is, there's always bumps along the road that try to take you down no matter where you go.

My American Dream
The American Dream is a dream that many love to dream. The dream that some may say is just a fantasy but it's not. The American Dream can be dreamed by anyone in the world whether they are American or not. Seeing that we are all different we may have different perspectives on what the American dream. Some may want to be rich, have a big house, nice cars, and others may want to be doctors, care for the sick, have a loving family, the American dream can be so many things. But one thing that will never change about the American Dream is that it is an opportunity to prove people wrong and gives you the strength to believe that you have the power to do what you want and receive what you always wanted. Education is always mentioned around the house. My parents always tell us to never give up and especially on education. They tell us how hard they had too work because of little education and yet they manage to give us everything we need in order live in this world. Though it was difficult for them they tell us that the American Dream is achievable. They dreamed of giving us a better life and they have. Living this life at surplus I plan on giving back to my parent for all the hard work they went through to give me a good education. That why Im set on dreaming The American Dream.
My American Dream is to be someone that makes a change in this world, that makes a great impact. My dream is to graduate from a collage and/or a university to one day become a Vet and/or a photographer. Iv always been an animal lover and my main goal is to care for animals and help people care for them properly. All around the world animals are being miss treated or not getting the proper care an animal needs. My dream is to show that animals are a big part in our lives. I know one day I will achieve my dream if I just put my mind to do so, put my knowledge to use and also spread that knowledge.
